Army Loses Combat Records, AF Plane Lost in 1952 Found

* The Army has admitted losing – or not keeping – combat records for an untold number of soldiers and National Guardsmen who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

In some cases, the missing records have held veterans back from getting disability benefits.

* The Air Force is poised to slash the most enlisted men and women in a decade. Last year it handed out early discharges to just over 2,100 service members. This year that number could pass 2,400.

* Countries are outsourcing cyber hacking like never before, according to a British watchdog group.

So-called “cybermercenaries” are targeting not only military and government computer systems, but also those belonging to banks and energy companies, according to The Intelligence and Security Committee.

* An Air Force cargo plane lost in 1952 when it crashed in Alaska killing all 52 troops onboard has been found.

Receding ice has exposed the wreckage and a recovery mission is underway at Colony Glacier east of Anchorage.
