Rights & Wrongs, Honor & Dishonor
I decided to post this because of a recent comment made by a friend on his blog.
A blog’s comment box does not have adequate space to express the details and fundamentals of “VIOLENCE” and the root definition “to violate” is to dishonor what is right and thus harm someone.
There is a important distinction between LAWFUL and LEGAL.
With the diversity of cultures, religions, and traditions how can we determine what is Right and what is Wrong?
Without the full explanation one is likely to experience “Cognitive Dissonance” and become cynical or dismissive because the information fails to agree with what was taught, learned, and what is accepted.
Most People want government to be right and when someone tell of government being wrong then they may experience “Cognitive Dissonance“.
Slavery was once regulated as legal property under the statutes of governments and people were taught at home, in school and by governments to accept the laws for slavery. To own a Slave was legal and a Right!
When some pointed out the truth that the government’s statutes were violations most people experienced “Cognitive Dissonance” and rejected the truth with statements such as:
“social order will breakdown and chaos ensue!” or “This is the law! We should obey the law.”
“Rather than absorbing this information from a purely analytical point of view, it is suggested that one would benefit much more by simply going over the material with an open mind and an open heart, and try to feel the information that is being presented from an intuitive point of view. Ask yourself if what you are hearing resonates with your inner knowing.” ~ Mark Passio
Some people, perhaps most people, mistake physical-force and killing to “ALWAYS” be an act of “violence“.
This is a false belief or misuse of the word.
Consider this audio explanation:
Please skip ahead to Que 8:07 and listen to Mark’s first-hand affidavit of violence by a police-force in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania United States of America
