Before determining that answer one must know whether it is possible for such a “official state of emergency” to exist without it being on the front pages and headlines of the corporate-government controlled media. Obfuscation of United States Martial Law continues in public but officials know the secret policy.
Yesterday, Oct 7, 2013 Representative Sheila Jackson Lee said:
“We have martial law…and my colleagues know what it means…”
One of the tools available to institutional authority is the threat of violence (State sponsored terrorism).
Security forces, Police, martial law, and Military has that role of obeying orders and harming or threatening the people.
The uniform and written obligations has psychological effects that I will not talk about here, but the effects have been researched and documented.

People in uniform and offices of authority will have the choices to quit the job or disobey or obey destructive and inhumane orders.
Remember when Congressmen Brad Sherman and Paul Kanjorski, and Senator James Inhofe, all said that Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson warned of martial law if the TARP banks bailouts weren’t approved.

Gordon Brown is right. When the economic system breaks down or the dollar collapses food, fuel, and medicine will be nearly impossible to acquire. The experience of Greeks, who saw this first hand, is a perfect example.
The only option for the government at that point will be to control the looting and violence that follows by declaring Martial Law and locking this country down.”

I find this disturbing as I note that this has never happened in previous government shutdowns and government budget battles. The arrests of veterans and tourists in national parks and now the removal of People from their homes because of the government “shutdown” is nonsense.
