Governments around the world are keen to get their message cemented in the mainstream narrative. They’ve done this overtly by managing their message with PR companies and press teams and covertly through projects like the CIA’s Operation Mockingbird. They’ve also developed subtle ways of ensuring their messages are spread as far and wide as possible with minimal effort.
