By Blocking UN Resolution, US Shows That It Seeks Ukrainian Conflict Escalation
MOSCOW, August 22 (RIA Novosti) – By blocking the UN Security Council statement on the ceasefire in Ukraine, Washington has demonstrated that it wants to see further escalation of the Ukrainian conflict, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Friday.
“If the US opposes an absolutely non-confrontational, reconciliatory text, there can be no doubts that Washington intends to have the armed confrontation in Ukraine continued. It could be seen only as an attempt to ‘undermine’ the humanitarian mission,” the ministry said in a statement.
Moscow believes that such policy is hypocritical, the ministry added.
“Cynical disregard for the fate of civilians and ‘couldn’t care less’ attitude toward the international humanitarian law when it comes to geopolitical interests, becomes the core of the policy of the United States and its European satellites regarding Ukrainian,” the statement read.
“More and more questions are being raised about the ability of the current US administration to participate in the development of realistic and pragmatic approaches to international problems, to adequately assess the situation in the various regions of the world,” the Russia Foreign Ministry noted.
Russia called on the UN Security Council Thursday to adopt a statement urging a ceasefire in Ukraine while Russian humanitarian aid is being delivered to war-torn regions. The examination of the UN Security Council statement on Moscow’s proposal for a ceasefire in eastern Ukraine has been delayed. […]

Kiev Plans to ‘Cleanse’ Besieged Cities Ahead of Independence
MOSCOW, August 22 (RIA Novosti) – Kiev is conducting a full-on military “cleansing” of the eastern Ukrainian cities of Luhansk and Donetsk before the country’s independence day on August 24, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on its website Friday.
“Kiev has delayed the formally needed agreement from the International Red Cross for several days in a row, inventing new pretexts and at the same time increasing attacks on Luhansk and Donetsk by using aviation and heavy armored equipment against housing blocks and civilian objects,” the ministry said.

Alasdair Macleod On Ukraine: A Perspective from Europe
The West’s power & influence is on the wane.
It is clearly not in the interests of the long-standing members of the EU to escalate a sanctions and financial conflict with Russia. The European Central Bank will have almost certainly discussed contingency plans with the major regional central banks in the Eurozone, because the banking system might have to make available special credit and financing facilities, i.e. a rescue from a financial crisis if NATO goes much further down the sanctions route.
This is why politicians are walking on eggshells, paying lip-service to America and the scared Eastern fringe members of NATO while hoping this goes no further.
So long as this is the case it is clear that NATO members are powerless to stop Russia from wresting control of all or parts of Ukraine from the government in Kiev.
Putin knows this;
unfortunately it is not clear to us that the American government does.

Well at least Shell has made the prudent decision to suspend shale gas production in Eastern Ukraine. I sure wish we could get them to stop here in New Plymouth – without starting a civil war, that is.

Hopefully that will be enough to send U.S. Vice President Joe Biden’s Son packing.
Remember Hunter, joined the board of the largest Ukraine gas producer Burisma Holdings, installed as the puppet protecting the globalists’ interests.
War over gas production is the meme: it takes a war to stop it, and they are willing to start wars to keep using it. The war meme wins either case, which means we are fortunate that free energy hasn’t made it into production yet. – never ending wars –
Societies need to mature out of adolescence and learn to live together instead of in military zoned boundaries governed as nation states.
