NATO Summit Seeking To Escalate War?

Apparently some entities seek to halt the violence and armed conflict, while simultaneously other entities are hidden behind the scenes to instigate violence in efforts to escalate the war and involve NATO military forces.
What is needed is for captured mercenaries to blow the whistle on their commands, and reveal who is fomenting war; else it is unlikely for Peace Diplomacy to succeed in Ukraine.
The ugly facts are that NATO leaders are not seeking peace and diplomacy, but rather attempting to escalate war with threats, economic sanctions, and military deployments. ~Ron

Obama: We are readying new sanctions on Russia despite peace agreement in Ukraine

Published time: September 05, 2014 Source: RT

United States President Barack Obama said Friday that the US and European Union are still prepared to impose sanctions against Russia if the crisis in Ukraine continues to escalate following the signing of a ceasefire agreement.

Speaking in Newport, Wales at the close of a major NATO alliance summit, Pres. Obama expressed skepticism over a pact signed only hours earlier in Minsk during a meeting of representatives from Kiev, Lugansk and Donetsk, and said the US intends to go ahead with new sanctions revealed by the White House on Thursday this week.

“Obviously we are hopeful,” Obama said of the ceasefire, “but based on past experience, also skeptical that, in fact, the separatists will follow through and the Russians will stop violating Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

“Pro-Russian separatists must keep their commitments,” Obama told the crowd.

The terms of the agreement have to be “tested,” the president added, and that he expects to “move forward based on what is currently happening on the grounds with sanctions, while acknowledging that, if in the fact the elements of the plan that’s been signed are implemented, then those sanctions could be lifted.”

Taking that approach, Obama said, “is a more likely way to ensure that there is a follow through” on the part of Russia.

One day earlier, a White House spokesperson said that the US is readying a new wave of sanctions to impose against Russia as a result of Moscow’s perceived role in the ongoing crisis in eastern Ukraine, and the EU was expected to do the same, targeting both the federation’s energy and defense sectors.

From the NATO summit, Obama said the ceasefire agreed upon only hours earlier was a result of “both the sanctions that have already been applied and the threat of further sanctions, which are having a real impact on the Russian economy and have isolated Russia in a way we have not seen in a very long time.”

Speaking on behalf of the EU, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said Friday that the latest sanctions being threatened against Moscow by European powers could be rescinded if the ceasefire deal is a success.

“Everything is in flux,” Merkel said. “Therefore we should expect that these sanctions could indeed be put into force, but with the provison that they can be suspended again if this process really takes place,” she said, Reuters reported.

According to Pres. Obama, this week’s talks among NATO partners yielded the decision that all 28-member states will now provide security assistance to Ukraine by means of supplying non-lethal supports, including body armor, fuel and medical care, as well as assistance intended to modernizing Ukrainian forces through improved logistics and command and control capabilities.

Petro Poroshenko, the recently elected president of Ukraine, said “The highest value is human life, and we must do everything possible to stop the bloodshed and put an end to suffering.”

The United Nations estimated last month that roughly 2,600 people have died in eastern Ukraine since fighting intensified in April.

‘Expansionism and destabilization’: Russia lashes out over NATO spearhead force in E. Europe

Published time: September 05, 2014 Source: RT

Moscow has accused NATO of using the Ukrainian crisis as a “pretext” to “push its military presence closer to Russia’s borders,” and says that plans for a new rapid response force will sabotage the peace process in eastern Ukraine.

“The [expansion] plans have been harbored by NATO for a long time, and recent events have served as a pretext to put them into action,” said a statement published on the Russian Foreign Ministry’s website, following the wrapping up of the NATO summit in Wales.

“Together with the rhetoric at the summit, and the planned military exercises before the end of the year, this will increase tension, destabilization the nascent peace process, and further widen the division in Ukraine,” the ministry’s statement said.

“The above is also testament to NATO’s unconditional support for the extremists and neo-fascists in Kiev, including the Right Sector political movement,” it stressed.

During the two-day summit, the 28 NATO member states instituted the creation of a rapid response unit numbering at least 4,000. It could be deployed in Eastern Europe – where it will be based – in less than 48 hours.

The primary stated reason for the initiative is “Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.”

Russia’s NATO envoy, [Deputy Foreign Minister] Aleksandr Grushko, also denounced NATO’s policy, suggesting that the alliance was engaged in “Cold War thinking,” and risked undermining the landmark 1997 treaty in which Moscow and Brussels officially proclaimed that they were no longer “adversaries.”

In a TV interview, Grushko said that NATO was “flexing its muscles,” and pointed out that an increased presence of NATO vessels in the Baltic and Black Sea would destroy the recently built-up level of trust in what were once the potential flashpoints in the standoff.

Grushko also called the planned NATO-Ukraine exercises a “provocation” because “foreign troops will appear in a country that is fighting its own people.”

“NATO must play no role in the Ukrainian conflict,” the official told Rossiya-24 network.

He also accused the U.S. of “trying to unload the financial burden of maintaining NATO onto its allies.”

Despite the harsh rhetoric, Moscow left room for potential cooperation with NATO through the NATO-Russia Council, which the foreign ministry said is an “efficient mechanism for consultation and developing common approaches.”

“We will continue to cooperate with the alliance, providing it takes our national interests into account,” Grushko stressed.

NATO cooperation with Russia has been suspended since March, following the ascension of Crimea to the Russian Federation.

Modern Tyranny? You Decide: The New World Order, by Henry Kissinger (Wall Street Journal)

Today on The Janssen Report (#68): Would you trust a small group of people to run the world for you?
Do you like the idea of placing your fate in the hands of a small elitist group controlling a one-world government, using a single world currency and operating a worldwide police force (military)?

From a macro-perspective this is pretty much what The New World Order will look like when completed.

Although I clearly show you my opinion on the issue of The New World Order, I urge you to form your own.

  4. So now Obama is imposing sanctions on Russia for what he thinks they’re likely to do? Sounds like a new twist on game theory.

One sure thing that came out of the NATO summit is that NATO won’t be introducing troops into Eastern Ukraine any time in the near future – because France and Germany oppose it.

Even if they followed through with their threat to introduce troops, 4000 is really pathetic in the face of Russia’s ability to mobilize 150,000 troops. Obama can’t commit any more than that because he’s already making war on at least a dozen other countries.

They’re crazy to think they can trick Russia into a military attack. With 150,000 troops all you need to do is sit there – and watch the suicidal sanctions kill off what remains of the European economy.
