Gunboat Diplomacy & Money Mafia
Recall I warned in March 2014 (almost exactly a year ago to the day) to not allow Ukraine to drown out the unstable Venezuela; and later shared the Jan 2015 reports of Wall Street betting Venezuela will default in a year.
Recently, the deflation in oil prices shook Venezuela to their knees, el Presidente Maduro went world wide begging for money, avoiding the U.S. loan sharks. Venezuela’s foreign debt started the week in negative territory.
As the mantra goes: Follow The Money; wherever it leads (often to institutional investors/bankers).
The White House cloaks intimidating threats with rhetoric: White House, spokesman Josh Earnest, statement: “We are deeply concerned by the Venezuelan government’s efforts to escalate intimidation of its political opponents. Venezuela’s problems cannot be solved by criminalizing dissent,”…
Apparently those U.S. actions were enough to send Venezuela on ALERT for possible U.S. attacks (I wonder if they are watchful for both Covert and Overt attacks?)…
Mr. Diosdado Cabello‘s comments would have me laughing (his choice of words are humorous) if it was not for the deadly potential of armed conflict.
I am reading the Venezuelan misery with food, the escalation of non-diplomatic rhetoric and more saber rattling.
No, this is more state sponsored war mongering, bad bankster’s debt and bad policy. ~Ron

WASHINGTON (Reuters 9 Mar 2015) – The United States on Monday declared Venezuela a national security threat and ordered sanctions against seven officials from the oil-rich country in the worst bilateral diplomatic dispute since socialist President Nicolas Maduro took office in 2013.
U.S. President Barack Obama issued and signed the executive order, which senior administration officials said did not target Venezuela’s energy sector or broader economy. But the move stokes tensions between Washington and Caracas…

President of the National Assembly, Diosdado Cabello, commented on the sanctions issued Monday by the U.S. government to Venezuelan officials. “Nothing is out of context,” he said.
He also warned that the U.S. plans a “military strike” against Venezuela.

The food crisis (failure to pay food suppliers) is an immediate Venezuelan crisis as bankers and governments fight over the interest payments or what they call sovereign debt.
The corruption and the drastic drop in crude oil prices has devastated the Venezuela government revenues.
Most nations face the same crisis, the debt interest due continues to rise while simultaneously not allowed to fall and not erased…
I find Martin Armstrong comments interesting, as he has advised many governments and central bankers.
Regardless whether his conclusion is correct or not, his experience and observations are valuable in showing what goes on inside institutions.

As far as I can see, US foreign policy is becoming increasingly incoherent and illogical by the day. It strikes me as a last ditch effort by a failing presidency – and nation – to make some mark on the world stage.

You may be onto something, if so do you expect a political sacking or assassination?

Both seem highly likely. But when policy is so disjointed, it’s impossible to make predictions.

Yes, we have to be careful with predictions…
My observations of over half a century that the U.S. gov went rogue long ago (opposite of individual sovereignty of the People as Freedom protected by the Constitution), and have become more roguish, in your face, with greater frequency of political assassinations and wars.
Thus when I read your comments about U.S. gov’s “foreign policy is becoming increasingly incoherent and illogical“, I wanted to know if you saw a trend that has a conclusive path.
Living in the region claimed by the U.S. gov, I see the horrors and approaching horrors of the next Presidential cycle that limits the candidate choices to only the Bush criminal family, or the Clinton criminal family, or a 3rd political party created by the criminal Koch family!
The future U.S. Presidential tyrant I predicted to come, was having the path carved out for him/her by the Legislated “Patriot Acts” can come by way of the two major parties or a newly funded 3rd Party.
As I was drawing parallels to the corporate funded rise of Hitler and the NAZI party.
I saw and predicted this back in Bush’s 1st term, post 911 war campaigns.
I am hopeful that other observant and aware People share their awareness and we reveal the truth immediately and the alert warnings prior.
I forecast the approaching storm in that preparations can be made and lives saved.
I think BIG Political EVENTS inside the U.S. are ahead…
