This is important, as we had our eyes on the volatile South American region for years, expecting the devastation of sovereign debt payments to hit a snag.

This is a short reminder to search for information coming from South America as the worldwide debt crisis escalates.
Maybe it is finally sinking in for the ruling class that the Rio Olympics was not a good idea for Brazil.

The Brazilian Crisis:

Corruption, Neoliberalism, Sovereign Debt, Poverty, and Social Unrest…
Relax, the ruling class technocrats are making policy.

Brazil sends 200 troops to control lethal violence in the south-eastern state of Espírito Santo (a small coastal state just north of Rio de Janeiro).
Deadly violence occurred after police on Friday (3 Feb 2017) stopped work because of the pay dispute.
Local media reported that as many as 50 people have died during the period, an unusually high death toll for the state in such a short period.

For sure, you’d have to be crazy, as a government, to even consider hosting the Olympic games!
