The West’s central bank club is out of favor with the Argentina government. Argentina regulators are attempting to gain control of Argentina’s currency and monetary policy by investigating banking fraud.

During his daily press briefing Tuesday, Argentine Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich also spoke of the incident, calling Sullivan’s remarks “incorrect, unfortunate and representing undue interference in the sovereignty of a country.”

An Argentinian consumer finance group has sued Dutch Rabobank over LIBOR.

Last year Rabobank was fined some $1 billion by US and European regulators for its role in manipulating the key London Interbank Offered Rate and its Euribor cousin.
