This is astonishing!
The American People are sick of politicians and they showed their disgust by staying home.
Record low voter turnout is the clearest “Vote of NO CONFIDENCE” that the U.S. Government has ever experienced.
I expected this and still I am surprised. The People truly have lost trust in government, and deservedly so.
Once the republican political party gets over its victory euphoria the cold truth will set in that they do not have the support of the American People, they only reaped the results of the American People stating clearly that the government is on a dangerously wrong path.
The sweeping republican Senate and House victories were clearly the repudiation of the wrong direction the government is on.
The support for state sponsored poverty, wars, destruction, terror, weaponized foods & viruses is nonexistent.
The People realize that government and their money masters are the cause of their misery.
How Low Can You Go? Voter Turnout Way Down!
Voter turnout was so low that former Florida’s Governor Charlie Crist filed an emergency motion extending voting hours!
The twitchy.com reported.
The percentage of Miami-Dade County voters who turned out to the polls for Tuesday’s midterm election was the lowest of any county in the state.
Statistics from the Florida Division of Elections show just 40.67 percent, 528,956 of 1,300,465 active registered voters in Miami-Dade, cast a ballot this year.
.
N.Y.
The democratandchronicle.com reported:
So just how low was voter turnout in New York on Tuesday [4 Nov 2014]?
Put it this way: With 99 percent of precincts reporting, Gov. Andrew Cuomo picked up nearly 685,000 fewer votes than he did four years ago and he still picked up a 13-point victory.
Statewide, 3.6 million people cast a ballot on Election Day — or just 32.5 percent of the 10.9 million active registered voters on the state Board of Elections’ rolls, according to data from the Associated Press.
.
Indiana
The indystar.com reported:
Indiana’s voter turnout Tuesday hit a modern-day record low — and likely is the lowest in state history.
Based on preliminary vote totals, it appears that turnout will fall somewhere between 29 and 35 percent.
.
Vermont
The burlingtonfreepress.com reported:
Vermont’s voter turnout appears to have hit a record low in the 2014 elections.
The Associated Press calculates that the final turnout figure is about 193,500.
That’s about 43.7 percent of the roughly 443,400 registered voters in the state.
That figure is seven-tenths of a percentage point below the previous low of 44.4 percent of voters who turned out in 1978.
.
Hawaii Sets Record Low for Voter Turnout in a General Election
The civilbeat.com reported:
Even the high stakes of this year’s general election were not enough to get many Hawaii voters to the polls.
Once again, voter turnout appeared to be abysmally low Tuesday, continuing a trend that has given the state the distinction of being worst in the nation.
.
Hollywood, Los Angeles and California also spoke loudly
The dailynews.com reported:
Where did all the voters go?
Los Angeles County set a record low turnout for a nonprimary election: Only 25.2 percent of the more than 4 million registered voters took the time to cast ballots in Tuesday’s election. For California, it was slightly better, but not by much. Of the state’s more than 17 million registered voters, 5.3 million went to the polls — a turnout of 29.9 percent.
That’s in stark contrast to recent statewide elections. President Obama’s elections brought out 79.4 percent in 2008 and 72.3 percent in 2012.
[…]
The previous voter turnout low point in a regular L.A. County election was 42.7 percent in 2002. There have been several primary elections in which the turnout was lower, most recently in 2008’s primary election that saw a 20 percent turnout.
.
United States
The bluenationreview.com reported:
We had the worst turnout since the 1940’s, and that was at a time when a good portion of the population was off fighting in World War II!
Ron Paul: 2-party U.S. political system in reality a monopoly
Former Congressman Ron Paul told RT in the midst of Tuesday’s midterm elections that the “monopoly” system run by the leaders of the two main parties is all too evident as Americans go to the polls this Election Day.
“This whole idea that a good candidate that’s rating well in the polls can’t get in the debate, that’s where the corruption really is,” Paul, the 79-year-old former House of Representatives lawmaker for Texas, told RT during Tuesday’s special midterm elections coverage. “It’s a monopoly…and they don’t even allow a second option,” he said.
“If a third party person gets anywhere along, they are going to do everything they can to stop that from happening,” the retired congressman continued.
[…] Paul warned RT that even the two-party system as Americans know it is in danger.
