Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras resigned

Watching the Greek Crisis unfold for 5 years was like slow motion video, we suspected this eventuality and it finally happened.
To be blunt, I expected political assassinations to occur, but it is still too early to rule that out as dirty politics continues… ~Ron

Tsipras resigns, paving way for snap Greek election

Tsipras had long been expected to seek early elections in the autumn. But he was forced to move quickly after nearly a third of Syriza lawmakers refused to back the program in parliament last week, robbing him of his majority.

A leading rebel, Syriza lawmaker Dimitris Stratoulis, hinted that his faction might split formally from the party, declaring a “political and social front which will be anti-austerity, democratic and patriotic”.

“It will have as a goal to cancel the previous two bailout agreements and the third bailout agreement that the current government voted for, and to replace them with a policy of growth,” he said.

Greece’s complex constitution has special stipulations for holding elections less than 12 months after the previous vote, meaning the president should first give major opposition parties three days each to try to form a government.

Tsipras resigns, paving way for snap elections
    […]
The initial reactions from the camp of Greece’s creditors appeared diplomatic, even upbeat. “Swift elections in Greece can be a way to broaden support for [European Stability Mechanism] stability support program just signed by PM Tsipras on behalf of Greece,” Martin Selmayr, a spokesman for European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, wrote on Twitter.

Eurogroup President Jeroen Dijsselbloem said he hoped Tsipras’s resignation and the new elections would not derail the latest deal. “It is crucial that Greece maintains its commitments to the eurozone,” Dijsselbloem said in a statement e-mailed to Reuters. “I recall the broad support in the Greek Parliament for the new program and reform package and I hope the elections will lead to even more support in the new Greek Parliament,” the statement said.

Following Tsipras’s resignation last night, Greece’s Constitution grants the leaders of the largest three parties up to three days each to try and form a government. If they fail to do so or to decide not to exploit that right, then a caretaker prime minister will be appointed to serve until the elections. This will be the head of the Supreme Court, Vassiliki Thanou-Christofilou.

That guy, Eurogroups’ President Jeroen Dijsselbloem, reminds me of a mafia henchman, and he said:
“It is crucial that Greece maintains its commitments to the eurozone,… I recall the broad support in the Greek Parliament for the new program and reform package and I hope the elections will lead to even more support in the new Greek Parliament”. He and his goons may be the ones pointing the threatening guns.

Loan sharking has always been very profitable!

Until it is exposed for all the public to see it for what it truly is (criminal scam) and then defiance emerges. Perhaps Greece will not be the flash-point to burn the E.U. but Italy, Portugal, Spain, and other nations may spark the stampede for the exits…

Speaking of Jeroen Dijsselbloem! Is that a gun he is holding at the head of Tsipras?

Eurogroup Chair Dijsselbloem Supports Alexis Tsipras

“I hope that they are as quick as possible so that the least possible amount of time is wasted,” stated Eurogroup President Jeroen Dijsselboem.

“I think the intention of Prime Minister Tsipras is to get a more stable government,” he added, expressing his hope that the Greek people will show their support to the new bailout program.

He also stated that Tsipras did not breach any of the agreement terms when he announced his resignation and snap elections. Furthermore, he expressed his belief that Greece will uphold its end of the bargain, even after the election results are announced.

A large majority supported the new bailout program in the Greek Parliament and we expect that the support will be even greater after the elections, he added.
